Bill is a retired 1st Lt Army Intelligence officer who received a Direct Commission in 1968 while serving in Vietnam. Following retirement from the Army in 1970 he received a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Northeastern University after That Bill went on to study Irish History and Government at University College Dublin, Ireland. During the course of his 30 year career as a public high school Social Studies teacher Bill served as both Vice President and President of his local Teachers Association and earned two additional graduate degrees. He has been married to his wife Carol for 41 years and they are the proud parents of three daughters.
Bill is an original founder of VMFP and was very active in both the ’04 Veterans for Kerry campaign as well as the ‘08 Veterans for Obama victory. In addition to his VMFP activities Bill also serves on the Massachusetts Governor’s Veterans and Military Families Advisory Council.
