Veterans and Military Families for Progress is a a 21st Century VA-recognized veterans organization whose membership consists of veterans, military families and active duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, with regional, state and local chapters across the country. It is organized as a 501(c)(4) Nonprofit, Nonpartisan, and Tax-exempt entity. In addition, VMFP is unique among such veterans’ organizations in that family members participate at all levels of our organization, with full voting rights.
Veterans and Military Families for Progress was formed in February of 2005 at a meeting of veterans and military family members from across the country who were concerned about an overextended military due to numerous deployments, and the erosion of benefits for veterans, military personnel (including Guard and Reserve) and military families. We promote public policy that specifically addresses such “coming home” issues as physical and mental health care, education, employment, housing, and homelessness. We believe these patriotic and courageous men, women and families, who have together defended our nation and our liberties at home and abroad, have earned appropriate and adequate support.
